Fireproof – new movie from the makers of Facing the Giants
Everyone,
Sherwood Baptist Church is releasing a new movie this fall. Due to the success of Facing the Giants, I don’t think it will take much to ensure that it makes it to local theaters, but it doesn’t hurt to work towards ensuring that it comes. If you saw Facing the Giants in the theater in Brunswick, you might want to know that it was on a small distribution list and was not slated to come to Glynn County at all. When we finally got the movie here, it was one month after the initial release, but it stayed for six weeks total and was seen by almost 3,000 people during that time. If you haven’t seen it, it is a fantastic movie, and one of the best movies I have ever seen, so check it out. We were almost not even blessed with having the opportunity to see it before it came out on video, and it took a lot of work (aplenty prayer and ultimately a leap of faith) to get it here. I don’t know how this movie will be distributed, or to how many theaters, so I wanted to forward the link to the website to give everyone a heads up so that we can keep checking to see if the distributor will need to guarantee or pre-sell a certain number of tickets prior to providing the film to a local theater company. Depending on the requirements of the film distributor, we may need to get several churches to work together. There is a trailer and some additional information on the website, so check it out. Sherwood Films also has another movie called Flywheel, which is also good. I think the One Day Book Store has a few copies of both movies, or else Brian Roberson (634-2003) can order some if you’re interested for yourself. Or you can probably rent it at a movie store.
