Prayer Request

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

Hello fellow followers,

Please hold up and pray for the parents of Baby Hayden, she has gone home to be w/ our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ today. 13 days after being introduced into this world. She is in the arms of the Lord. Let us pray that God will envelope the parents, Anthony and Kelsey so that they may know his unconditional LOVE at a very sad time. Lord, encourage them to turn to you for help grieving and moving on with their lives, living in the truth of your word.

Blessings in Love,

Fireproof – new movie from the makers of Facing the Giants

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

Everyone,

Sherwood Baptist Church is releasing a new movie this fall. Due to the success of Facing the Giants, I don’t think it will take much to ensure that it makes it to local theaters, but it doesn’t hurt to work towards ensuring that it comes. If you saw Facing the Giants in the theater in Brunswick, you might want to know that it was on a small distribution list and was not slated to come to Glynn County at all. When we finally got the movie here, it was one month after the initial release, but it stayed for six weeks total and was seen by almost 3,000 people during that time. If you haven’t seen it, it is a fantastic movie, and one of the best movies I have ever seen, so check it out. We were almost not even blessed with having the opportunity to see it before it came out on video, and it took a lot of work (aplenty prayer and ultimately a leap of faith) to get it here. I don’t know how this movie will be distributed, or to how many theaters, so I wanted to forward the link to the website to give everyone a heads up so that we can keep checking to see if the distributor will need to guarantee or pre-sell a certain number of tickets prior to providing the film to a local theater company. Depending on the requirements of the film distributor, we may need to get several churches to work together. There is a trailer and some additional information on the website, so check it out. Sherwood Films also has another movie called Flywheel, which is also good. I think the One Day Book Store has a few copies of both movies, or else Brian Roberson (634-2003) can order some if you’re interested for yourself. Or you can probably rent it at a movie store.

Please add the family of Tim Nobles to your prayer list. Tim is the senior pastor at First Baptist Brunswick and his mother died unexpectedly yesterday. She was 59 years old and lived in Danville, Georgia. Tim and his wife Saundra have 5 children and were very close. Tim’s dad is not saved and the family has been watering that seed for years and prayerfully hid dad will get right with Jesus now. Tim and Saundra are Emmaus alumni but from a different area.
