Prayer Request for Justin Purnell

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

Justin Purnell was one of the many severely injured from the explosion at the Dixie Crystal plant in Port Wentworth a little while ago. Justin is still in the burn unit in Augusta hospital. His parents are Steve and Tammy Purnell and brother Kyle Purnell. The Purnell family was scheduled to work the past boy’s Journey but they stayed with Justin instead. Many people came forward to take their places on the team and we are all grateful for their sacrifice and servant hood. Please continue to pray for Justin as he goes through more surgeries and as Tammy said we know who the greatest healer of all is.

His Servant,
Mike Koreckis

Prayer Request and Gathering Reminder

Please pray for my Mom, Betty McDonald.  She has been put back in the hospital in Dallas with congestive heart failure and severe swelling.  They have gotten her blood pressure and breathing back under control but she continues to be nauseated and is having trouble getting the fluid/swelling down.

Also be in prayer for the next gathering at Wesley United Methodist Church on St. Simons Island.  The gathering will be Friday March 7 at 7PM.  The church address is 6520 Frederica Rd. St Simons Island, GA 31522 and the phone number is 912 634 1412.  The church website is www.wesleyssi.com.  A map is available on the google maps or call John and Vickie McDonald at 912 729 2020.

We need to be in prayer for music volunteers and Fourth Day Speakers.  Please contact John and Vickie at bakerman@tds.net if you can help.  Thank you and Decolores!

Chrysalis Prayer Vigils

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

The following message was forwarded by Mike Koreckis:

Hey Guys,

The Journey needs your help ASAP.

Please go to www.3dayol.org (Girls Flight #15 and Boys Flight #16) and follow the instructions to sign up for the prayer vigil for the upcoming Dayspring Journey Flights.  The girls’ flight begins tomorrow and there are still a lot of blank spaces on the prayer vigil.  We all know how prayer works for the weekends.  Please find a spot and sign up to pray and let all of your Emmaus and Chrysalis friends know the need for the prayer vigil.

Thanks for all of your help.  Please sign up ASAP.

Prayer Request for Dotty Manser

Monday, February 4th, 2008

My mom is very sick and has been for quite some time. Saturday morning she woke up and had respiratory failure. When the ambulance arrived they had to give her 100% oxygen to keep her alive. Later on Saturday night she had a heart attack. She is 51 years old and battling lots of medical issues. I as her decision maker, decided to have a heart cath done what they found was: a 80% blocked artery so they put a stint in and lots of infection clogged up in her lungs. She is currently on a ventilator and the doctors have put her into a medicated coma in order to flush the infection out of her lungs. At this point we don’t know when she will come off of it and I am asking for prayers. We know that with God all things are possible!

Thank you and May God Bless!

Prayer Request for Cyd Mizzell

Saturday, February 2nd, 2008

The following update has been provided by the Asian Life Rural Development Foundation (ARLDF) regarding Cyd Mizell:

You may be aware that Asian Rural Life Development Foundation worker, Cyd Mizell, and her driver, Muhammad Hadi, were taken at gunpoint January 26th in Afghanistan. We continue to be hopeful that the two will be released unharmed soon. We have received innumerable e-mails and phone calls offering emotional encouragement and prayers. We are grateful for these. For continuing updates, check our web site www.arldf.net. Asian Rural Life Development Foundation is a humanitarian aid organization that works throughout Asia helping to provide a better quality of life for the poor, mainly through community development projects. In the area of Afghanistan where Mizell works, ARLDF personnel serve in education and projects that help people learn skills to better their lives and the lives of their families. Aid efforts in the region also include food-for-work projects, irrigation, rehabilitation, health care and restoration projects. Although our attention and focus is on this difficult situation, our ARLDF workers and their national colleagues throughout Asia are continuing their work. When this situation is resolved, we expect Mizell and Hadi will want to continue their work with ARLDF.
