Golden Isles Walk to Emmaus

There are two Journey flights next month. The girls is February 7-10 and the boys is February 14-17. As of now there are not enough caterpillar applications to proceed with these flights. The Journey Board of Directors has set a minimum number of applicants before they will proceed with a flight. As many of you know, a lot of work has gone into preparation for these flights and would be terrible for us not to have these flights.

Please prayerfully consider a young man or woman 19-24 years old that would benefit from this experience. The caterpillar applications can be downloaded at www.segaemmaus.org and the registrar information is on the applications to call or mail.

Please, please don’t let satan take hold of these weekends. Our last team meeting is this saturday February 2 and it would be a tragedy for us to say that we have to cancel the weekends.

Emmaus Community, Faye Ard’s sister, Brenda Daniels, is in the Brunswick hospital and in very serious condition. She went in with double pnuemonia and has developed ARDS. ARDS is acute respiratory distress syndrome and is a lung condition that leads to low oxygen levels in the blood. ARDS can be life threatening. We will be in agreement for the Lord our God to do a mighty restoration of Brenda’s lungs and extend her life. Faye is married to Norman Ard and they are members of First Baptist of Kingsland. They are also both members of the Emmaus/Kairos team. Thank you in advance for sharing this burden with them through prayer.

The February Gathering will be at College Place United Methodist Church on February 1, 2008 at 7pm.

The church is located at 3890 Altama Ave in Brunswick and is next to Coastal Georgia Community College. The church phone number is 912 265 4883. We are still in need of music players and singers for the gatherings and if you are willing to help please call John or Vickie McDonald.

We are also looking for churches for the gatherings during this year and would be grateful if you would volunteer your church and be willing to help with the preparations. The following is the list of dates:

If you haven’t filled out a willing servant form please get online and fill one out so you can serve on the future walks. Also there is still a need for applicants for the walks and if you have someone in mind to sponsor, it is time to get busy. It will be such a blessing if you can help someone else attend the walk.

Yesterday morning Rainey Black the daughter of Jessica and Brian Black went to be with the Lord, she was two months old. She never woke up from sleep. Jessica is Tony and Sondra McNorton’s niece. Please pass these prayer vigils on to the community to sign up. The girl’s flight is next weekend and there are 47 prayer times open. The boy’s flight is the following week and there are 50 prayer times open.

Just a reminder we still need young people grades 10th - 12th to fill the Chrysalis flights!!!  The dates are girls: Jan 17 - 20 and boys: Jan 24 - 27 and they are held at Tattnall County campground

This is a great weekend of blessings and spiritual growth for our young people,so please pray about sponsoring someone.  Applications can be downloaded online from our website at http://www.segaemmaus.org/ and faxed to Rick and Amy Kyall at 234-2886.

Girls applications need to be faxed by this Fri, Jan. 11.  Scholarships are available based on need.  Please pray for the teams. Valerie Hinesley will lead the girls and Jason Simmons will lead the boys.
