Prayer Request for the Latner Family

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

Hello to those I Love,

As expected my Mom did not take the news about my brother very well. She was complaining of dizzness all day Thursday. On Thanksgiving at around 6:00 she fell down and broke her left arm in two places. My younger sister brought her home on Friday and got her an appointmtnt for today to determine what is to be done to correct the breaks. The ER in Louisiana;were my sister lives, could not set the break due to swelling. They imobalized it and reffered her to her doctor in Pensacola.

I know God doesn’t put more on any of us than we can stand, but sometimes I wish he didn’t trust me with so much. It is tough being so far away and feeling so helpless.

Blessings,

Thank you for your prayers and support. John A. Garner passed away yesterday, Sunday November 25, 2007. The Good News. Allan was saved several years and had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was an active Christian MD who donated his organs so others might live and see. Please keep Brandy, Allen’s wife of three months, Dee, and her parents Ryan & Donna Garner and the rest of the family in your prayers.

Prayer Request for Robert Latner

Monday, November 26th, 2007

My Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Again I ask for your prayers for a member of my family.

My younger brother’s name is Robert. He is 42 years old and lives in Ft.Walton Beach FL. Last week his was diagnosed with liver cancer. I do not have all of the details; but he has been sick for three months, and now we know why. He will be going to Birmingham UAB for additional evaluation and prayerfuly treatment and recovery. He and his wife will be taveling on the 28th of this month, and they are not sure how long they will be up there.

What I do know is our Lord hears and answers prayers.  I know that through him all things are possible, and I know that he can and will use even the worst of situations to his glory.

Also please be in prayer for my Mom. She has a heart condition, and the family is not sure how she will react to the news of my brother’s illness. He has asked that we allow him to tell her after the Thanksgiving holiday.

I love you all and covet your prayers.

In His Light,

David Latner

Update on Connor Landis

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

God is performing a miracle in this little girl’s life! Although she was diagnosed with Stage I glioma, the tumor is small, slow-growing, and will start a chemo regimen. Yesterday she had surgery to have a shunt placed in her brain to help with drainage.

Following is a description of the biopsy that was performed on Monday. The second message was just received a little while ago. Thank you for these prayers!

Message #1 (Monday, ll/12/07)November 12, 2007 at 03:05 PM EST
Our family thanks everyone for their thoughts and prayers. Connor underwent a sterotactic brain biopsy today and is in recovery. Her initial (frozen) biopsy revealed a benign glioma. Gliomas are graded I-IV with I and II being benign and grade III and IV being anaplastic (malignant). Grade I and II brain tumors are cancer yet benign. Due to the location of the tumor, surgery is not recommended yet chemotherapy is needed. Connor’s brain swelling is stable now and she will probably have a shunt put in on Wednesday. This shunt directs excess fluid to the abdomen. This is good news in light of the possibilities. Thank you again for your continued prayers. We are so blessed to have such good friends.

God Bless you all,
The Landis Family

P.S. Connor is back in her room, intensive care is not needed for her recovery. Please, please continue to pray that the swelling goes down and for continued good news. More details to follow later.

Message #2 (Wednesday, 11/14/07)
Connor has returned from her surgery and the procedure went well. She is in some pain but this is being managed. The doctor expects her to have “some” immediate improvement in her cognitive abilities. She has asked for food which we know to be a good sign for sweet Connor. We thank God for his guiding hand throughout this procedure and going forward with her treatment. Thank you for all the love and continued support. Further updates to follow.

Love in Christ,
The Landis Family

Update on Connor Landis

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

Connor Landis, age 10, is a 5th grader at Frederica Academy on St. Simons Island. She underwent a biopsy yesterday that determined she has a large, benign tumor located in the middle of her brain.

Due to its size and location, the tumor is inoperable. Chemo is to start as soon as possible in hopes of shrinking the tumor. The outlook at this time is very uncertain.

We know the power of prayer and we ask that you blanket this young girl with your prayers. Remember, too, her parents Cindy and Mark and sister Bridget when you pray.

Prayer Request for Linda Bare

Monday, November 12th, 2007

I wanted you to know that Nannie is not doing good at all. She can’t hardly eat anything and is so weak, The doctor’s were going to do a scan on her gallbladder to see if it was okay, because of all the pain she is in, and not being able to eat anything, That saw her Monday and wouldn’t even do it, because they said she was to weak, and even if it was that, they could not do the surgery because of her being so weak. PLEASE pray for my Nannie. I am going to try my best to get over to her house Thursday and clean it for her, and take something that can be cooking while I am cleaning, she is so sick and it just make me want to cry. I try my best to go over each week and help. I’ve been taking food to her off and on when I have plenty of extra, because she don’t feel like cooking. Please pray for me that Hayley and I can minister to her needs without being a burden by being in the way. Please get the word out to the Kairos and Emmaus Community about Nannie (Linda Bare) needing prayer Big Time.

With Much Prayer & Love,
